First of all the guy needs to be past his selfish phase in life.

this is when he would rather hang out with his friends than his girlfriend.
Then the qualities he's looking for are usually superficial ones like 'how fat is she likely to get after having a few kids? Or "Will she always want to have sex?" Unless you get an older guy who wants you around because he's been through hell and back and you don't scare him as much as his exes have.

Me? I was looking for someone who was beautiful, smart, creative, witty and funny.

WORD OF ADVICE: Be YOU from the very beginning. Don't pretend to be someone you aren't to make him like you more or he'll be confused and hurt later.

He looks first at how she looks. Does she look good. Thats usually it.
Not for me as I learnt the hard way that astonishingly good looks mean nothing in a serious relationship when qualities of compatability, sincerity , compassion etc.become more important.
Thats why many relationships break down. Because of the first point.
