have had surgery twice now in 10 years for carpel tunnel and cubital tunnel. Was told that they surgery would last for about 5 years and it is so true. The symtoms did come back 5 years to the day, had surgery again on my hand and then elbow and now its just about 5 years again and Im starting to feel symtoms again in my right hand and elbow. I was wondering will this "feeling" keep coming back every 5 years for the rest of my life? Will I constantly need surgery every 5 years?

Acutally, the employer that I worked for back in 96 gave me such a run around for 8 LONG months, denying that it was work related, I sometimes think that since they made me wait so long to say it was work related that maybe some nerve damage was caused and thats why the symptoms keep coming back. (It finally was proven, months later to be a workers comp claim back then). Within that 5 year time, I moved to Florida, worked for a claims office (less typing) and did advise them that I had sugery on my hands and that maybe the symtoms would come back. When the problem came back, this employer didnt give me the run around like the first on had done and within 2 months, surgery was done again but only in my right hand/elbow. The insurance compay was much nicer to me this time and they even paid me a some for my pain and suffering, unlike the first insurance company. Not that I wanted a hand out from either company, I just wanted my hands fixed and to feel normal again.
