Because there isn't a museum to remind everyone of those who died and those who were persecuted and those who were swept aside.

Wow, this must be 'get the catholic church day'.
The catholic church has never publicly admitted any of their crimes. To do so would completely falsify the whole religion-since many of their popes were involved. The pope is "supposed" to be infallible. If one were a criminal, then the whole thing is false. So they are not going to "fess up" to anything.

Those "crimes" were committed centuries ago-and they weren't
crimes at the time. I would say the statute of limitations has long
since expired anyway. We have enough problems in the modern
world without worrying about what the Church did in medieval
days.

The truly scary part is how they forget that the catholic church is the one who put the bible together and was the sole caretaker of it for 1600 years.

That is perhaps the most troubling thought of all.

easy. the church is one of those who write history, history is written by the victorious, the victorious are the liars who's hands are stained with blood. to be honest the only pure person in the whole church is now dead and should be ordained as a saint. R.I.P pope john paul the second.

you mean the crimes of all of christianity, not just the catholics.

most other christian religions seem to believe that because they split off, that they are no longer responsible for the history of their faith.

it's like a guy on death row changing his name from John Smith to John Doe and saying that only John Smith was convicted, and he's John Doe, so he has nothing to do with this Smith guy.

It's just a game. All of it.

I don't think it so easy, that's why so many people have left the Catholic Church.

Maybe because they're small potatoes in the overall scheme of things.

When one asks forgiveness, we like God should remember their sins no more. Sounds to easy, doesn't it. Better to be on God's bandwagon than not, that is following His example.
