We are traveling to Chicago in a couple of weeks and we want an authentic Chicago style hot dog. We are willing to go anywhere in the city to get the best.

I'll concur with the dogs at Wrigley Field. =D

But shy of going to a Cubs game, I'm partial to Portillo's.

However, if you can find a place that still uses the neon-green relish, that's a bonus!

Gene and Judes in River Grove

The best dog is bower's dog on west Irving Park Rd, on the north side. It is between the Kennedy express way(I 90/94) and Cireco Av. Everything on a dog would include this; mustard, onion, relish, pickle, tomato, lettuce, green pepper, cucumber, sport peppers, and of coarse celery salt, that is a meal in itself!

A man stands, and walks on the corner of 51-55 street and Western Ave in Chgo. He has the best Hot Tamale's and Hot Dogs, with Fresh tomato's , cuke, lettuce, ketcup, relish, and salt and pepper. Also Fat Johnny's on Western Ave and Southwest Highway. in Chgo. Also on North Ave and Austin, about there called Johnny's also great other food.
Premo's in Oak Lawn, IL. on 95 Street and 1 block east of Central Ave.
Good eating.

Fluky's is a good option. They have been around forever and do a good dog.Go to Wrigley Field if the Cubs are in town and get one there, too. The vendors are all over the place but Wrigley is the best on the street.

If you want to hang out with obnoxious drunks, then I agree with Weiner Circle.

If that's not your style, then go to Super Dawg on the northwest side at Milwaukee and Devon.

If you ask for ketchup at either place you'll look like a rookie at best and might get thrown out of Weiner Circle.

The Wiener Circle on Clark just south of Diversey. If you drink, the best time to go is late night b/c the after bar crowd goes there for their late night carb/protien fix and the sass from the counter crew can't be beat!
