Some of you spend so much of your time condemning other people's sexual acts.

What do you think God thinks of your nose being in other people's bedrooms?

How do you justify speaking out against other people's sex lives, yet at the same time knowing it's none of your business?

In thinking of another's sexual habits, you are actually thinking dirty thoughts.

What do you have to say to God about your dirty thoughts?
They are, after all, your own thoughts.

Paul O:
You missed the mark with #1.

I'm not talking about plain old thoughts of sex. I'm talking about plain old thoughts of OTHER's sexual appetites.

It's a totally different situation. And it's chock full of nasty thoughts. Nasty thoughts of another's sexual desire, which is nobody's business. All that's left is the nasty.

Ok, let's see whether I can sum up what all the gay bashers said:

Westside doesn't seem to know about the existence of gay Christians. Well, I am here to prove him wrong. Lil' darling, are you perfect, by any chance? I would say the answer to that is a big fat NO since you're so darn judgmental, and, in case you have forgotten, our Lord had a word or two to say about people who judge others. I believe he wants the judging to be left for HIM to do. What makes you think your sins are better/more acceptable than mine? (And here's a clarification before the questions come pouring in - no, I do not think being gay is a sin. I truly think God has more important things to worry about.)

Sunny: Is this your version of "I know you are, but what am I?" Come back when you actually have something to say.

Mamma: Dearie, I don't need you to save me. Really. Not your job. Remember Jesus? He's the one who saves. And, just so you know, I'm not sure God is all that pleased. After all, wasn't it his son who said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"?

Perotonia: Not sure where you stand on the issue, but honey, I would rethink the name. It sounds too much like peritoneal. Anyway, let me explain how the terms you cited differ among themselves (if not for your benefit, for everyone else's):

a) Pornography: pornography is demeaning and trivializes what is supposed to be an act of love.

b) Pedophilia: pedophilia is a mental disorder, not sexual preference/orientation. It's UNCONSENSUAL sex with CHILDREN.

c) Incest: sexual intercourse between individuals who are related. Hmmmm... Remember Lot? Sure you do... You people love to cite that Bible passage to justify your hateful views. Well, I suggest you read the rest of his story. Here's a clue: it involves incest.

d) Sodomy: otherwise known as anal sex. The only reason I can imagine for its inclusion on your list is the fact that anal sex doesn't make babies. Do you engage in sex only for procreation, honey? Because, according to this view, if you practice safe sex or take the pill, you're going to HELL. (LaUghs oUt LoUd)

Beth: Yes, God wants us to be clean. In the name of all gays of the world, I encourage you to worry solely about your own cleanliness and leave ours to us. We greatly appreciate your cooperation. Amen.

Rachel: Why in God's name are you saying the OP is judgmental? She is only asking a question.

Lady Left: Are you saying homosexuality is a sin? How can love be a sin? Huh?

Paul O: Thinking is one thing - obsessing is another. Thanks for your concern for my soul, but I ASSURE you Jesus loves me and I'll be just fine. Now, let's see if I truly understood your main point: what you're saying is no form of sex but the missionary position conveys true love for your partner, right? Is that the sex-strictly-for-procreation thing? Hmmm... How many kids do you have? I could be wrong, but I think sexual pleasure is a gift to us from God. Trust me, when I make love to my partner, the last things on my mind are humiliation, dehumanization, and violation. And one more thing: God IS watching, but you know what? I think nothing pleases him more than TRUE LOVE between two people, no matter what gender they happen to be.

Ok, I'm done (for now).

God bless you all.

Within the contexts of politics and the education of our children Christians have every bit as much of a right to voice their opinions on sexual issues as non-Christians.

Throughout the Bible God teaches how he intended humans to function sexually. In the Old Testament much of this information is found in the form of laws for the nation of Israel. In the New Testament the context is mostly limited to Christian singles and married couples. If Christians answer Yahoo questions from a biblical perspective, why is this any different from non-Christians answering from other perspectives?

The thing for me is making sure to put a priority on spreading the good news of salvation rather than the consequences of salvation (e.g. a chaste life). Many Christians flip these priorities and place more emphasis on a non-Christian's unchaste life than helping them begin a relationship with God.

Being judgmental is a trap into which many fall -- and you are so right that it is ironic: a Christian believes he is rescued from the consequences of his own unrighteousness, but then speaks out on the sins of others as if he is justified to do so.
St Paul noted this same problem over and over, and prescribed for the Christian that he "e not conformed to this world, but transformed by the rwnewing of your mind". It's vital that a Christian be clean INWARDLY as well as outwardly -- and that of course means that we Christians must keep a monitor on ourselves rather than on others: "judge not, that ye be not judged". Ironically, a you note, a judgmental mind may conjure up far more hideous images of sin than are actually being performed -- and your behaviour is the business of you and God -- not me!
It was Paul again who wrote the famous words to Titus: "Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure: but even thier mind and conscience is defiled". (Titus 1:15) It seems that those who speak out against sexual sins in others may be those most in need of treatment!

My nose,I assure you, is not in other people's bedrooms. I have enough to do in my own bedroom without worrying about what's happening in others. I think that as a Christian sometimes we tend to judge when we should be planting seeds through love. God is the only one who has the right to judge other people's actions and behaviors. The Bible does speak directly to aberrant sexual behavior in Romans. But as I see it my job as a Christian is to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Let me assure that Christians are not perfect, we are simply forgiven, a good many of us lose sight of that fact.

Let me check and see if I'm correct in understanding you:
1. Thoughts about sex are dirty thoughts.
2. God hates dirty thoughts.
3. Therefore Christians who think about the sexual practices of others are hypocrites.

That's a great arguement except that the first premise is wrong. Thoughts about sex are not necessarily dirty thoughts. If I think about murder, I'm not thinking a "dirty thought" unless I'm actually contemplating murdering someone. In the same light, I can think about oral sex, sodomy, rape, etc., and not be thinking about how great it would be if I could do it. In fact, my thought is one of sadness because none of those acts respects the true dignity of another person. None of those acts are love in the sense that they represent a total, free, faithful, and fruitful action. None of them are self-giving, and none of them bring about a lasting good for the other. They only use and manipulate someone to a greater or lesser degree. Their only end is "getting off" at the expense of humiliation, dehumanization, or violation of another person.

Karol Wojtyla (later Pope John Paul II) wrote, "The person is a good towards which the only proper and adequate attitude is love...the person is the kind of good which does not admit of use and cannot be treated as an object of use and as such the means to an end."(1). Using someone for your own kicks and even allowing yourself to be used by someone else is a huge offense to the inherent worth and value of everyone involved.

Regardless of wheter or not Christians are poking their heads into your bedroom, God's there. He's watching, and watching with great sadness and desperate longing because all He wants is for you to turn to Him and therefore be with Him in a love that in this world is unfathomable and incomprehensible for all eternity. His love knows no bounds, can endure every offense, will always take you back, will never abandon you, and desires only your eternal happiness even if it means stooping down to our level and then dying for you to prove His point. I can't really think of a better deal.

True Christians aren't concerened with laws and checklists. True Christians are concerned for you. They want, I want, you to be with God for all eternity to share in the "eternal wedding feast of the Lamb." Seriously. I believe that you have so much worth, an infinite worth, that I want nothing but to spend eternity with you.

God is definitely sad when His children go around simply judging others. We shall be judged the SAME way we judge. But that goes not only for Christians.... you know?
In any case, an OUTWARD form of "religion" is NOT the will f God, but a heart that SEEKS Him, His will.
God's will is for each one of us to RENEW our minds.... feeling the mind with thoughts about HIM and HIS WORD, not with JUDGMENTAL attitudes towards others.

You are right that there some Christians who simply judge others for their wrongdoings, BUT you are doing the same.
Go search the SOURCE, the GIVER of life, the SOURCE of Peace, Love... the Object of our Faith.

I'm not one to judge anyone. If a lot of the Christians would actually read their Bible, They'd do the same.

Just take a look at American crime culture and witness the countless rapes (every 5 or so seconds) and domestic violence and the horrible endeavors woman have to go through.

Pornography, pedophilia, incest, bestiality, sodomy, gay sex is record high and Christians don't have the answer's to any of these problems for it is they (priests) men + woman who commit the very acts they preach and warn you against.

Typical excuse: 'God my Jesus lord will forgive me'

we are all sinners saved by His Grace.

John 3:16 - 21
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."

this means we have been given a choice and because we are human we must confess with our mouths our sins and accept His forgiveness .... there is no condemnation to those who believe.... we must turn away from our past and fight against the sinful nature of the flesh... trust in the spirit and walk in the light.

hope this helps you to clarify that fighting sin is a daily act and God has already forgiven us - we just need to accept it and turn from the sin.

I only speak out because the questions are there and asking. I know there is a God and that he wants us to be clean... mind and body. What you do is not between you and me. You are the one who will be answering to God on judgement day. And there will be one.
