Depends - (A) which teeth are you getting extracted? If wisdom teeth 3-6 weeks (That again depends on the angle and locations of tooth to be extracted). Front teeth tend to heal faster than the the back. (B) How is your overall general health? - If you are diabetic you will heal slower. (C) What kind of surgery are will you going through? - for minor surgery it is not a bid deal. but if the surgery is followed by any kind of radiation, make sure your extraction sockets are completely healed before surgery. (D) finally, make sure your bleeding from extraction sockets is healed completely before taking any kind of pain medication (such as Aspirin. Aspirin prevent platelet aggregation and you may be prone to bleeding). Make sure you are not taking any anti coagulants (i.e blood thinners which is common in patients with heart condition). Good luck with your extractions and surgery.
