Talking all day long to someone who never answers you back (unless you are schizophrenic) must feel pretty empty. You spend all that wasted time hoping god will answer you. Then something happens that barely matches up to what you prayed for, so you jump all over it as proof that god is real and doing what you asked for. That would be called coincidence, by the way.

So since you go through this empty existence hoping that some imaginary sky fairy will pay attention to you, you can make yourself feel better by believing that 'at least I'm better than those atheists'. Does it warm your heart knowing that you 'know the truth' and all of those people who don't think like you are stupid? Do you think god will reward you and make you feel special? Do you get enjoyment out of seeing people who don't believe say things like this, because they are going to hell and you aren't?

So what happens if you die and you find out your were wrong all along?

I don't feel better about myself because someone else doesn't accept what I believe. God does answer back, He is the 'still, small voice' of the Holy Spirit. It takes time and prayer and patience to be able to hear Him, but He does speak to me. Many people have probably not been in a situation where they had absolutely nothing to rely on except God, but I have been in that place. He is the only one who can relieve my burdens.

You've got it backwards about coincidence: the things we think are coincidence are actually God working in the mysterious way that He does.

I don't have an empty existence either. Through the midst of every silly or not so silly thing that can go wrong in life, I have great comfort in the fact that God is still with me and that He will not let me go.

I don't feel I'm better than anyone else, I am simply stating what I believe and trying to answer your questions based on that. I would hope that everyone I meet could experience God as I have and know the truth.

If I were to die today and find out I was wrong, then I have lost nothing. But I can't really answer that question because I believe that when I die I will return to my Lord in Heaven, simple as that.

Thanks for the question, God bless :)

It's not fair to lump all religious people up like that. I don't think I'm better than an athiest or think that they are stupid, lost maybe, but not stupid. God was the one to give you free will and a mind of your own to believe what you want so you're not stupid for that. I don't down talk or think I'm better than none of God's children, I just pray that we all find the truth in the end and go home. No, God will not reward anyone who put others down with the holier the thou attitude. And, what's the problem with believing in God. Hypothetically speaking, if you are right and there's no God or Heaven or Hell then either way the saved will be okay when they die, right? However, if we are right and there is a God and a Heaven and a Hell then the unsaved won't be okay. So, I think its better to believe and be wrong than to not believe and be wrong. Christianity gives hope, faith, and courage to people regardless. No matter what I'm going to always believe in God because I know what believing in him has done in my life. I would be a hot mess right now if I didn't believe.

My goodness!! So defensive!! I talk to God and he does answer me back so right there your statement is shot. In addition, I do not spend 'all day' talking to him since most of us still have to work for a living and have families that have needs and houses to be cleaned. I do believe in God and KNOW he has been there for my entire life and will be there when I die to take me home. However, I do not condemn you or any other person for their point of view. I do not feel atheists are 'empty'. Most of the atheists I have met are very fun, happy, intelligent people who love life as much as I do, they just don't practice the religion I do. That doesn't mean I can't have fun with them and respect them as a person. I have a lot of friends and some of them are atheists, some are gay, some are black, some are hispanic, etc. Atheists, in my book, are no different than anyone else. Have a great day!!

With God in my life I feel anything but empty. I feel full to overflowing with His Light and His Love! Every human being is born with an emptiness that only God can fill. And He will only be able to fill it if we invite Him into our lives. So, a part of you is empty and searching for something to fill that emptiness. Until you realize that God is the only thing to fill that void you will continue to search. You may not even realize you are searching. I don't think I'm better than you and I don't think you are stupid. Misinformed, yes. Stupid? No. Whether you like or acknowledge it or not, God loves you and is waiting for you to accept Him into your life. I won't find out I'm wrong, because I'm not wrong. I pray that you will wake up and accept Christ's death for your sins before it's too late. God bless!

I don't waste my breath telling my *atheist* buddies theyre off to hell (it's more important to see if they can make it out for a burger on Sunday) ...nor do I waste my breath saying it to the millions of non-believers I'm in contact with either .... I have a lovely full existence probably because I have a job and no time left to think up silly bitter questions like the one you just asked .. should I die and find out I was wrong ... I'll give you back your $1.00 .. in the meantime - have a spiffing day ...

An inteligent man was saiyng this prair: "Please God forgive those people that sin diffrent than me". Never mind that was a prair. It's just the expression that people are so convinced of their own opinions, and all others are wrong. Atheists feel superior to religious people, just as religious people feel superior to atheists. The truth we will only find out after our death (unless there would be totally nothing there - who would it remain to find out when you don't exist anymore? ).
Why do you eaven think about this? Nobody knows the truth, and it's kind of hard to speculate, considering the information you have. Keep your own opinion and don't let people change it, your mind judges best as long as it dosen't judge other people.

I can't understand why you even bother to ask these kind of questions about religious people. If you want to be an atheist then you are more than welcome. Who cares? Why do you even care what religious people say or think? If you are so gungho about what you believe and have it firmly fixed in you mind than more power to ya! Everyone is welcome to their own beliefs and their own opinions. So maybe you'll now get a life and leave the religious people alone and go bother someone else!
Don't know why you people feel like you have to get on here and vent about religious people when most religious people when they get a question like this will only respond in the positive unlike me.

That was kind of harsh, but I do see where you're coming from. It gets tiresome to be told day after day what a sad, lonely existence you must have, that you must have no morals, or that you are lying to yourself. My life is not empty, or without an anchor, and it's very moral. I'm happy. I totally understand what they are doing, but it still chafes, not because I'm missing anything, but because of the level of condescension is almost nauseating. Ah, well.

No, Christians feel good without needing to put-down an atheist.
We feel that atheists are refugees from reality and we feel a love and compassion for them which drives us to share our faith (also the Bible tells us so to do.)
The Holy Spirit gives us certainty that we are basing our lives on truth so we can be certain that, one day, we will be vindicated and then live an eternal life of perfection - come and join us!
