How come people, and I'm not just talking athletes here, seem to think that God or Jesus or Allah, or whoever your supreme being is made all good things in your life come true? Why don't people give themselves a little more credit for the good things they do? And conversely, do you blame God when something goes wrong, or is that when it is your fault? I get confused about this one, a little help would be nice.

People can take credit for the good things they do. I don't know who you know that doesn't. But when a good event or circumstance comes in to play that is not always the result of what you did. When people have blessings, they thank God (or whoever they believe in).

When something goes wrong, it is human nature to want to blame someone else, so that is why as humans we will blame God.

We as His children are vessels for God; all our strength and love comes as a gift from God. Yes, we succeed in life and create meaningful relationships, etc. But EVERYTHING is from God, right down to the gift of life. He created me so that I could bring more people back to Him. It sounds like a big giant paradox and it's hard to talk about, but it's easy if you just believe. The meek shall inherit the earth is a very true statement. When something goes wrong, it is either my fault for not obeying God or it is a test of faith from God. Our entire life is spent becoming more like Jesus and doing the work of God. From the perspective of a Christian. Hope I could help a little :)

Jesus is all the good things that happen. "Bad" things that happen are bad because 1) you didn't want it to happen and
2) Jesus only punishes you for doing something wrong that you never corrected( by simply appoligizing). If you make sure you stay good, more good things happen.
You shouldn't blame every bad thing on Jesus. The devil does many evil things, too. But Jesus ALWAYS defeats him by allowing something good to happen like your favorite team winning.

If you take responsibility for the good in your life, you also have to take responsibility for the bad, and that is just not something some people want to do.

Be responsible for you own lives!!!

Jesus wants you to be a good person and contribute to the world.

People blame God for everything bad happened to them and they boast in pride when they achieve anything in life. Human nature clearly mentioned in Qur'an.

I wonder the same thing. Why would God give 2 shits about your football team winning?

God gives us all the talent we have. He deserves all the glory and honor for any accomplishment we make. Even in failing we should say thank you Lord, because through failing we find maturity and growth.

It's easier for some people to assign blame and praise to creatures other than themselves, it's less personal responsibility. I think that's pretty lame.

Yeah, god really cares if the Celtics beat the Lakers ... cus you know, it matters greatly to him.

Sarcasm aside, he does like Ski Ball.

And dwarf tossing ... it's the reason he made them smaller.
