It should be 'he'. Not because men are superior or that God is a man, but in English grammar the masculine form should be used to refer to things of unspecified sex, and as God isn't human and doesn't have a sex he either falls into that category or the 'it' category, which most people would think disrespectful.

God made man first because he was to be made with all the best bits, with the stuff he had left he made what ever he could with the obvious bits missing...the ability to read a map, common sense, the inability to stand up with using a toilet.

Yes! When HE got it right he made woman. He didn't make woman out of a bone in man's head so she could rule over him, nor under his feet to be trod under him. He made her out of his side to be equal to him!
