yes i do think their standards are lower. Things that we believers believe to be sins and to be wrong and immoral non-believers embrace as a way of life; something that isn't all that bad it's become accepted in teh world so that makes it ok as far as they are concerned. examples: Homosexuality, sex before marriage, multiple sexual partners, cursing, lying, cheating, basic things believers say are immoral and "sins". we believers have higher standards because we believe in God and our purpose in life is to glorify Him and bring honor to Him, and even though we are not perfect (and we don't claim to be) be still try to keep on the right and good path that God would have to be on.

I would say my standards are different rather than lower or higher. I have few hangups about sex (other than infidelity). You might consider that a lower standard, whereas I would view puritanical views toward sex as psychologically damaging and enslaving.
Ignoring bizzare hypotheticals,
Would I kill someone? Only under the same circumstances you probably would. Would I rape someone? No. Would I lie cheat or steal? Only under the same circumstances you probably would. etc. Would I help people in need? Yes.
Outside the bedroom, there is little difference between us.

Non believer here.
No, we do not have lower standatrds if you're talking about morals.
We just don't think we need some guy in the sky to help us to determine what's right and wrong. We also don't need the idea of a prize at then end of life to keep us from doing bad. we already know better. We don't need the carrot on a stick.

No, actually they have a higher standard for the information they accept as truth. Apparently a lot of folks will believe anything they read in an old book, especially if some kook wearing a black dress is pushing it at them.

We (atheist) must have higher standards. We don't need an all powerful god to tell us to behave, we just know better.
We don't have a "get out of jail free" card either: "If I ask Jesus for forgiveness, it will be OK that I raped that girl. All will be forgiven!"
Hey, might as well kill her while you are at it. The prisons are full of Christians sitting around praying for forgiveness.
Look at angelcdm228's answer. She is totally hung up on sex. Religion does a good job of telling us sex is bad and repressing it. (see spamandham's post) That is why so many priests flip out and molest choir boys. Killing must be OK as angelcdm228 does not mention that.
