the sending signal is gone, same thing happened on my savana its very annoying, but i believe the fuel pump has to replaced if u want to fix it cause i think the sender is part of the fuel pump assembly and cant just be replaced on its own. and after u fix it dont let gas run below a quarter of a tank, thats what screws them up to begin w/

My 2000 GMC Sierra had same problem. Chevy House repair tech said the fuel quantity sending unit sensor inside the tank needs replacement. You drop the tank to the ground and remove the access cover on top take out unit and replace.
