I'm looking for non-toxic, inexpensive, easy-to-work-with paint for a mural in my son's bedroom. Is latex the best? If so, how can I keep it from peeling when I use painter's tape? Any other suggestions?

on all the murals I have done I use the acrylic paint that i use for stenciling or ceramics. They come in a variety of colors. For protecting I spray a clear coat over it. It cleans up nicely and doesn't damage all my hard work.

I use acrylics - in the little bottles, not tubes. They work great. I have heard that painting over the edges of the painters tape with a clear acrylic or polyeurathane BEFORE you paint the mural will help the paint to stay put. But I don't use painters tape. Experiment with a small section! Have fun!!!
