You need to take your Pomeranian to the Premiere. From there all three of you will go to one of the dry (wtf was it...catchments?) Once there, you take your baby's nappy and throw it in the dry catchment. After that, talk the Premiere into taking you to a honkeytonk and buying a round of mids, and drink them straight from the stubbies. Then, go to Tassie and hunt for some devils, but avoid the big red roos. Then, head south to check out the snow fields, and afterwards fly up to the outback. Then, and only then, will your Pomeranian stop acting in this peculiar fashion.

A lot of dogs will attempt to "mother" a human baby, by attempting to clean them. This is a natural instinct, they are generally attracted to "smelly" things and will attempt to roll on it; if they are outside and attempt to clean it up; if they are inside. Some dogs will do these types of things because they actually have a vitamin deficiency, so you may want to check with the vet, just to be sure that this is not the cause. I have a Pom too, and she went through a stage of cleaning up one of my cats, when she was ill; and bathing her from head to toe like she was her puppy. I had to check with my vet on that one. The vet said that she was fine, and it was just the mothering instinct. Poms can be very jealous, especially if she/he has been queen/king of the household until the human baby arrives. I don't believe that the dog will intentionally harm the baby, but she could inadvertently scratch the baby while she/he is trying to chew the diaper. You may want to try paying a bit more attention to the dog, especially when the baby is down for a nap, just so the Pom doesn't feel left out. They are definitely sweet dogs, I have never met one who I would ever think otherwise of. When I read the last sentence of your question, you have really answered yourself...No matter how much you try to stop him, he won't stop...he is definitely doing this for attention!!!! Give him a bit more time, I know it's really difficult to find "extra" time with a baby in the house, but you can do it!!! Enjoy your baby and the sweet doggy. Before you know it the baby will be crawling and then walking and they will be best buddies. Have a great day!!!

You're talking about a diaper right? If so..my dog used to do that too..it's because of the simple fact that dogs like anything that smells disgusting...the worse it smells to us the MORE they like it! I don't know why..they just do.

It is in thier instincts. To survive in the wild, you have to get rid of evidence that you were there. That is what she is trying to do. I know it is weird, but belive me, there are weirder things.
