I am very glad to say that in Great Britain there are no such ludicrous rules. A person's sexuality has nothing to do with their work. I sat and watched the Gay Pride march in London on the television news, alongside my Army Officer husband. There were many Servicemen and women marching in uniform. My husband's reaction 'about bloody time too!'

Because it would cause a discipline problem!
Narrow minded folk such as yourself would physically and mentally abuse them, The Army spends a lot of money training it's soldiers to be professionals and silly perceptions have no place in a military unit.
There was a time when Blacks and Women were frowned upon in the military. I believe in equal rights and oppurtunity for all, Male, Female, gay, straight if you wish to fight for your country EVEN ON THE FRONT LINES you should be afforded that oppurtunity. yor sexual orientation has no bearing on your warfighting capability, there are heterosexual men who suck as soldiers.
The person that you look down on today may have to save your sorry a** tomorrow!

i recognize a minimum of four gay infantrymen in my unit, each and each and every of the decrease enlisted study about them, one among them being the first sergeant on the age of 27, notably sturdy in case you inquire from me. and each and each and every of the gay infantrymen have a tendency to be "intense % infantrymen" there is not any longer something incorrect with them as infantrymen, and this technology appears to be like significantly better understanding and accepting of homosexuals in the service. the regulation ought to be merely lifted, and that i'm optimistic that in case you kicked out for the period of it, you'll nonetheless be able to reenlist, yet even if once you've been kicked out, the reason you've been kicked out remains adversarial to the UCMJ on the time. so it may nonetheless count number adversarial to you.

The real reason is that it is an old law that was amended into the current "Don't ask, Don't tell" policy.
The reasoning behind it is because some people, like you appear to be, are homophobic. Anything that can break unit cohesion will be removed. There is also, as another user said, so "accidents" don't happen. Again that goes back to the homophobic people out there.

You are so very wrong in your way of thinking. Being a gay person does not affect your love of and your ability to fight ,defend or die for your country. You are homophobic and perhaps a racist too.No one deserves to die, because of something you are born with.Maybe as a "man" you need to be there on the front line helping to defend this country.Instead of wanting someone else there to take your bullet. IMHO

Why bother? Main concern is to avoid getting killed in combat, serve the country and pray for peace. If you don't follow these objectives, you're a fool.
