Ok, so people like to believe that God has a plan for us and that God knows what's going to happen in our lives. This plan has been laid down for eons. So my question is why do people try to convert me if God is going to take care of it? Why are they trying to rush their Creator? Wouldn't it make more sense to just let it happen instead of trying to make it happen? Unless of course you think you are an instrument of God. If God really intends for me to choose religion I will.

Your questions speaks of something that I believe might beyond human understanding, in our finite minds (it certainly is beyond mine!). God calls us and knows what we are going to do, that's clear. It is also clear that we have to choose to follow God. But how much of the choosing is our own will and how much of it is God's will?

As a Christian, I still try to reach out to people and tell them about God's love because it is what I'm commanded to do. God is allowing me to participate in His plan, and I want to take that opportunity! It's great to be a part of something bigger than myself, all the while serving my Lord.

First of all, lets assume that Predestination is biblical. (Read Ephesians 1:3-6 and Romans 8:28-33. Paul was clear on this.) So, if Predestination is biblical, what does that say about witnessing to the world? Well, the Bible also says: "Today is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6:2) Also, Christ told us: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:19-20)

So God chooses or "elects" many to faith in Christ but God ALSO commands us to go into all the world and preach the Gospel of God. If the God who called me from my sin, and gave me faith to trust Him, commands me to act, I will act for the sake of obedience.

Ask a Christian from where his/her faith came. And if he says, "well, its MY faith! I made it!," then he is wrong. God gives us the faith to trust Him.

I think its great that this question is on your mind. If I were you, I'd just ask God for the faith to believe Him.

The Bible uses the word predestined (not predestination).

Basically, God has determined in advance the level of belief and obedience a person must have in order to make it into Heaven (He also has determined that when we get to Heaven we will be completely cleansed and will be completely acceptable like Jesus).

God is the only one who can justly judge how we stand according to His laws.

For the same reasons that Atheists try to push their beliefs on Christians and try to convert Christians to their beliefs...

Not every one believes in Predestination... some believe in Free Will which means that you can choose... those are the people who want to try and change your mind.

Please study a little Hebrew and Greek. You will find that the words have entirely different meanings. We take things from our modern day translations and apply them to another time. How interesting to say the least. Education will make one wise. Like the prophet Joel said: My people perish for the lack of knowledge.

it doesn't make much sense......predestination is very limiting. i'd rather think my potential is much greater.

the answer to that i would assume is free will. many christians say that god gave us free will, but seeing as god knows everything, he already knows what we'll choose, right? so there is no free will, no choice.

its kind of depressing really.

predestination is false doctrine. our whole purpose for being on earth is to see if we make the right choices. make the right choice. Ask a Mormon Missionary to visit your home and teach you the truths of God.

yes, but u have a free will...the path can be placed before you and you can be given the ability to see it and understand it....you still have to choose to walk it...you believe you have school or a job, but you have to choose to get up every morning and do those things...its ur destiny but only in the respect that you cooperate with it...its a relationship.
