it is true that the evidence points to mostly those of faith being supposedly possesed
so this suggests that it is a mind thing .. if you feel you deserve punishment in some way then it can manifest
its like the wounds of christ ... these are commonly seen only on devout catholics
i do not feel we can be possesed by anything for many different reasons
only one soul can inhabit a body at any given time .. so during the possesion where does the other soul reside ? and if it does go elsewhere why hasnt it ever been spoken about where it has been ?
i could go on but i think you get the general idea of where i am coming from
but my thoughts are .. why do only religious people get signs .. when it is the non religious who need them for proof ?
why is it only religious people get taken over by demons etc if their faith in god is so strong ?

I believe it is the direct opposite..

“You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

In the context of the preceeding verses:
"them" refers to the devil and the spirit of anti-Christ
"He" refers to the Holy Spirit
"he" refers to the devil (and his evil spirits)

If the Holy Spirit is in the believer, no other evil spirits can be in the believer, since the Holy Spirit is holy.

And for the believer, the promise has been given that He will never leave the believer nor forsake the believer.

Having said that, the believer can be oppressed (outward) but never possessed (inward).

First of all, Muslims and Buddhists do believe in God.

My own belief is that it is not possible to be "possessed by the devil" because I do not believe there is any such being.

I do believe in God, the creator of all things. I do not believe that God would create the devil.

Good is a force, which flows from God. There is no force called evil, though evil itself exists. Evil is merely a state of existence in which there is a profound lack of goodness.

This is similar to forces such as light and heat. Light is energy, when there is a lack of it you have a state called darkness, but there is no "dark energy" outside of fantasy novels. Heat is energy, when there is a lack of it you have a state called cold, but there is no "cold energy" (please don't suggest "cold fusion" which, even if it is possible to produce, would not produce "cold energy", merely produce energy without generating the millions of degrees of heat that regular fusion produces).

People who believe they are possessed by the devil are traumatized individuals whose beliefs have led them to interpret their confused and tortured mental state in this manner.

None of them really make objects fly around the room or beds levitate.

Mary Magdalene was possessed by devils. You can read about her and what her life might have been like before and after in a book called Magdalene by Angela Hunt. Check it out and let us know what you think. I was not totaly in agreement with this book but it gave me a different way to look at the issue.

the only thing thats scientific about ur claim is that anywhere possesion has been uncovered has been "around" people that believe in God....an atheist might call it just a psychological disorder or a birth defect....its not a scientific thing anyway....its spiritual like anything else to do with God or spirits u cant put it under a microscope and examine it.

sure, demonic possession is actual. Christians could nicely be possessed with the aid of the devil ( i think of Muslims and Jews can too, they suspect in God and in devil's existance too) additionally voodoo form possession could additionally be demonic. Devils and demons are actual, yet they oftentimes want an commencing, which includes occult, ingesting, drug use, trauma. a number of it ought to be like psychological ailment, yet there incredibly isn't plenty distinction between a raving psychotic and one possessed. this is distinctive techniques of seeing the comparable element. the guy differences thoroughly and for evil. In a sense, we are all possessed by the devil because we all live in the bondage of sin. When Satan first helped Eve and Adam doubt, he led them off God's path 'possessing' them in this mortal world.

It's an odd way to look at it, but makes sense if you think about the significance of Jesus.

The Bible mentions a number of times about people being possessed by demons, and Jesus cast out many demons also (Paul did once that I can remember).

Many sicknesses, oppressions and depressions are caused by demons, usually they are only thought of as physical ailments in this modern world.

The woman that Paul cast a demon out of was not a Christian or a Jew.

I have heard of quite a few stories of missionaries casting demons out of non-Christian people.

If someone has a demon, you can test to find out if it really is a demon. The person with the demon DOES NOT have to believe in God and in many cases, they don't. The way this is done is that the demon in the person can be commanded "in Jesus name". I have done this personally on a number of occasions. The only individuals that can do this are persons who have submitted their heart and life to God in the name of Jesus Christ. Feel free to IM or e-mail me if you want more details.
