St. Bernard says, in a quotation that is now famous, "De Maria nunquam satis". It means, "Nothing is enough to say about the Virgin Mary". In other words, the Fullness of Grace which she has makes her so great, in the eyes of God, that we could never praise her enough. This is not because she is a godess. It is because she was filled with the grace of God. After all, didn't the Angel address her as "Hail, full of grace" ? (Some modern translations, of course, choose to minimize the strength of the angel's words). We invoke her to pray for us to the Lord our God, and we do so by using various titles. Each title is like a ray that emanates from her fullness of grace, and that reflects one aspect of that grace. For example, we call her "Star of the Sea" because we are like pilgrims on the seas of this world, and the star is what guides the ship to the good port. Our Port is Christ. Mary is the Star who leads us to Christ.
St. Teresa of the Child Jesus used to say, "Don't be afraid to proclaim the glories of the Virgin Mary too much; for you will never be able to proclaim them enough".

Because all of them defines the workings of Mama Mary. There are as many names as different people could refer to Mary's intercessions in their lives. Like those who have experienced the lost of loved ones, they seek Mother of Perpetual Help which views the side of Mary as a doting mother. Likewise, some venerate the Immaculate Conception which is a representation of Mary as expecting woman. It's like digging into Her infinite traits and finding the best image who we can very well relate to.
