If by naturalization, how many years minimum does one have to live in the United States?

Furthermore, if staying in the US for 5 years or so, which visa would enable one to stay in the US for this period of time?

First of all, naturalization is the process for citizenship when you already have your green card. You can be sponsored for a Green Card through a spouse, having a child in the US, investing Over one million dollars into the US economy through investments or opening a business, or an immediate family member sponsoring you. If you wanted to stay here for five years you can be sponsored by an employer for a work visa that depending on your status can be good up to ten years. You would have to be employed by them only.

First you immigrate, with an immigrant visa. Then you get a green card. Then you apply for citizenship:
