i have a 16 yr old nephew who aspires to be a pilot but he has myopia (quite serious). I don't think laser is suitable for him since he is still young. Is there other ways to cure myopia? safe ones? thanks

You can have lasik surgery that will correct most myopic patients (myself included) to 20/20 vision.

He will have to wait until he is about 21years old - that is when your eyes stop 'growing'.

If you want to be a pilot, on good way is to join the Air Force.

He can take the laser after he's older, right? Anyway he's not gonna be a pilot at age 16...so he can still wait. Meanwhile he can wear contact lenses to stabilise the condition...

surgery of course!, but he´s too young right now, wait a few years and then he can do it.
