First I'll start off by saying, if I'm not painting, I'm thinking about painting. I'll look at something and ask myself '' that's interesting how would I go about painting it ''. I usally try to get at least 90% of my painting done in the first eight to ten hours, so I tend to start my painting in the evening knowing that soon everyone in the house will be asleep and I can do what I need to do without any interruptions or distractions. One does need to plan a painting, I imagine my painting completed in my head, the plan defines my objective, although be it a loose plan, it keeps me focused. I never try for an exact copy, that takes all the fun out of doing art. I don't have a direct link to the website on which i post my work, but if you have time you can check it out at hellosanantonio.com under the artist name Guerro.

My husband and I just bought a house with a detached building that serves as my studio. I haven't started working in it yet, as I am still getting moved in, but my intention is to work there like I would work at a 9-5 job. I often get caught up in the art process, and many hours go buy without eating, drinking, or anything but art! I keep regular hours- regular in the fact that I devote a certain amount of hours, but I don't limit when the hours take place during the day. I try to do it during the day, as I have "alone time" then. You are welcome to check out my website listed below. It's still a work in progress. . . !

It depends how much artworks I'm aiming to do, if the aim and objective are clear I have no problem to lost in time. I limit myself to schuduled hours so I have more free time to do other things to keep my mind fresh with more imagination to spend on creative works.

I just let it happen. That is the best inspiration because if you put yourself on scheduled hours you can find yourself always looking at the clock instead of what you're doing.

once upon a time, i used to spend more than 5 hours a day working on sketches. back then it was like time flew....all i can say is there is a link between love for someone and art. i loved a girl who was never meant to be mine, then it was like all sketching and sketching. now i hardly touch pencils, or sketch paper. perhaps, if i fall in love with her again i can regain the lost glory days. and start working on sketch paper again. i know am not hitting the right cord here.
if anyone is interested in checking out my works, they are most welcome. I'd be more than glad to share those works.
