He is in the US airforce and been here since October 2004 - we have known each other from the 1st day he arrived in England, been together since Feb 2005 and I have been living with him since Jan 2006. All the bills are in his name, only my cell phone bill and bank statements come to our address. He is returning to the states in November and we will apply for a fiancee visa. They will obviously need proof that our relationship is valid. We have 1000's photos in many different countries together, some emails that have been sent throughout the years, but i have thrown all the phone bills and not stored the online chats we've had. What kind of evidence is needed?

You need proof of meeting at least once in the past 2 years. Photos, birthday cards, emails are enough. There is no requirement to prove that you lived together.

You may wish to check out visajourney.com There is a wealth of immigration information there and details of how to fill in all the forms properly. There are also forums where you can post and others who are in the process can tell you what worked for them.

All the best.

Poor girl, you really are imploding, aren't you?

We don't need evidence that you're living together. What we look for most is a coherent, reasonable story about when and how you met, what you know about the other person that a normal fiancee would know, when and how you decided to get engaged or married, what your plans are for when you move to the US. A few photos are useful for times you were together; dated printouts of emails are useful for times you were apart. But if you don't have photos, remember this: fraudulent cases ALWAYS have tons of photos. Good cases often don't have any.

Think about it: I have refused more than one fiance applicant on the basis of greeting cards that were all carefully dated. What real person writes the date inside an "I love you" card? And what real American guy sends so many, and always signs them with the same pen?

Manufactured evidence is painfully obvious, so we mostly look for the truth, not the evidence.

Good luck. And please honey, chill out a little!

Pictures are great evidence. If they have time/date stamps on the back, that's even better.
Do you have any records of train or airline tickets for trips that you went on together?
If you can, get a sworn affidavit, a statement by somebody who has known you guys the whole time and knows that you two are engaged.
Check out www.uscis.gov, the have forms and info on there. There is a fiance visa form that has all the requirments.
Go to the US consulate or embassy and ask them.
Good luck!
