Well no body has the right to re-write the Bible or any other document that has been around and written by someone else -the copy right laws of the Bible lye with Constantine, Justin and the high priest of roam in the 1st or 2nd century.
What you can do is an adaptation - there you can give another name to the book and mention that it is an adaptation from the Bible.

A bunch of years ago, the Black Bible or Street Bible came out.
It took the Bible and rewrote it in slang so Black people could understand its meaning, but it got rather odd. To wit:
"Now when the Almighty was first down with His program, He made the heavens and the earth. The earth was a fashion misfit, being so uncool and dark, but the Spirit of the Almighty came down real tough, so that He simply said, 'Lighten up!' And that light was right on time."
The whole problem with the Bible is that anyone or any organization can put out their own version, but since God does not come down to edit His galleries, we are left with a representation fo the Word of God, subject to the whims of the editors and potentially faulty translations

The Bible is collection of manuscripts written before and after Christ walked on this earth. The books of the Bible were cannonized (selected and included) at the Council of Nicea by members of the Catholic Church. There are more books written by prophets which were not included in the cannon for various reasons, primarily they conflicted with or threatened the tradition, dogma, position of the church leadership. The leadership of the Catholic Church would like to be the only ones allowed to read the holy scriptures. It gave them power (which they misused) to control leaders of nations, political decisions, become whealthy, and burn people at the stake. That priest told you a common lie. That you are too young to understand. He is the one that doesn'y understand. Christ specifically states that children should be encouraged to come to him, to read the word of God, and be lifted up by their understanding. You need to find another religion and stay away from Catholic leadership.

No one does, what has been written is the final revelation of God. Don't ask a priest, study for yourself. There are plenty of commentaries and study aids you can use, both on-line and in book form. Most likely he didn't know the answer, but didn't want you to know that. That was part of the reason for the Reformation, to take the Scriptures out of the exclusive hands of a clergy and give it to the people to read and understand.

Find a Pastor not a Priest. Priest have a a very broad vision of the scriptures. Or just research the verses yourself.

The Bible has been rewritten and edited so often, maybe it doesn't matter! It seems that the excuse has to do with translating, but various political leaders throughout history, and church leaders, have all left their mark. I heard recently that one pope, centuries ago, had the word "reincarnation" taken out. That really changes things - if my information is true!

No one has the right. If you are talking about 'adding or taking away'.
Most priests wants you to go to them for your spiritual needs, not the Bible.
For years Catholics were told not to have a Bible. That still may go on.

The only ones who have re-written the bible are the muslims. They have their own version. If the priest cannot help you , go to a protestant church and ask the pastor. If the priest cannot answer your questions, he is the ignorant one.
