Historically, the Protestant reformation was partially based on the idea that no single person should be as powerful as the Pope, in matters of faith and morals. So it would be defeating the purpose of Protestantism for any Protestant religion to appoint a single person to that type of position.
If you do research, you will probably find that most Protestant organizations (Lutherans, Baptists, Seventh Day Adventists) have "conventions", and decide issues much as a democracy or a republic would, by voting individually, or in a representative capacity. And when a whole bunch of one type of one religion doesn't like what the majority is doing, you wind up with two versions of the same religion, or a merger. That's why there are three major Lutheran organizations in the US, and why, about 20 years ago, the Evangelical and Reformed Church joined with at least one other organization to form the United Church of Christ.
No other Popes.

Catholics and Protestants follow the same person in Christ Jesus.
The Pope is the spiritual leader of Christ's Church until He returns, much like the Protestant Pastors are the leaders of their individual churches. Unlike the Protestant Churches, though, the Pope has final authority when it pertains to the doctrine of the Catholic Church, whereas individual Protestant Pastors have the final say in their church's doctrine.
That is why there are so many Protestant religions, all believing what suites them at the time. For instance, some Protestant faiths still believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist, while others reject this belief. Also some allow female pastors, while others do not.

Jesus Christ. The protestants, unlike the catholics, protestants chose to believe and follow the Lord Jesus Christ. Not some elected official.

The teachings of Martin Luther founded the Protestant church. He protested (Protest-ant) the Catholic Church selling indulgences. Read about the history of Christianity. Protestants follow a myriad of rules and traditions, each denomination has their own.

We are raised following a reverend. Then we grow up and make our own choices. Much like the catholics do, but we don't disgrace people for their mistakes. For example, a divorced catholic can't share wine & whatever they do at weddings and funerals, I forget what that is called. They have to go through some ritual again before they are accepted. My husband is catholic and married before.

Protestants are PROTESTants, and they protested following a man, so they follow Jesus and the Bible, and don't answer to a man.

you may no longer probably be a catholic and not hear one ingredient with regard to the Pope. in case you circulate to church they pray for the Pope at each and each mass. The Catholic church would not do something devoid of first checking with the Pope. The Pope is the pinnacle of the catholic church and he runs all of them.

Well, if they live in England then the Monarch is the head
of both Church and State. That means that right now, the
Queen oversees the Church and carries the title of Defender
Of The Faith.

We trust the bible to give us true guidance - not a man called the pope that supposedly has a bat phone to God.

We only follow the teachings of the Holy Bible. Or at least try to. Sometimes we screw up because no one is perfect.
