Or is it like with psychotic murderers...they have to first commit an act of violence before they can be given treatment?

Ah but to conquer a phobia, one has to realise one has a phobia and see it as a problem. Homophobia is a blinding fear, that stops you realising you have a problem, and indeed making you think it's the WORLD that's wrong. lol. It's like alcoholism - you have to do the self-realisation thing before you can heal. Maybe there should be Homophobics Anonymous - you have to stand up in a group and do the whole "I'm Tony and I'm a homophobe" thing, before you can all engage in a group hug (therapy, stage 1). Maybe there should be a facility in the law for friends or family of homophobes to admit them to HA clinics for de-phobing - that might work?

It's not government's responsibility to do this. Particularly when phobias can be treated with a $14.00 book. It's not about government looking after us. It's about us looking after ourselves and our government. You wouldn't be a communist or a liberal, by any chance?

BTW, is there a difference in your mind between homophobia and just plain being disgusted with queers flaunting their perversion?

Thanks ed, I always suspected gays couldn't tell the difference between a psychological disorder and common logic and decency.

'nuff said?

There is no cure for stupidity/ ignorance...besides, in a lot of ways, the government (i..e politicians, legislature, etc.) and religion perpetuate homophobia.

In response to 'nuff said?:

As far as I'm concerned, no, none at all. That'd be pretty much a textbook case of it.
