It's a combination of adrenalin and concentration because your scared. It's called Fight or Flight.

That's nothing special. It's a very normal react to danger situtation in pretty much all animals.

It's when you're in danger situtation, your heart start to beats faster which will stimulate your aderliene glands. Once the aderliene start to run into your bloodstream, you become much stronger, faster, feel less pain, your senses become more sharp, and you become more aware of your surrounding. That's why it could be so hard to hold down a injuried person and EMT worker often have to calm them down with medicine to make it easier to treat them. Also if you can't control your aderliene rush well, it's a very bad situtation because if you start to bleeding, you will lose your blood faster.

Don't believe me? Try take a few friends to forest, abandoned house/building, or other places at night and you'll be surprise by what they can smell or hear.

It is a heightened sense of awareness. Adrenaline courses through the body when it senses danger, and it affects some people differently. Alot of people get jittery and their thoughts jump around. Others can see clearer and hear more sharply. Consider yourself blessed. This is a great thing to have. I am blessed with it too.

Ah, the old "think you are Superman" syndrome!
Sorry, but you don't have super powers. Its called adrenaline. We all have it when we feel threatened. It is your body's natural response. Your animal instincts coming out. Its like the hair on the back of your neck standing up. Your body is just preparing you for action!

Maybe it's not really enhanced. It could be that the REST of the time you aren't really using your senses properly until you NEED them. Then they turn on.
Bottom line: Wake up and start using your senses more!

it's called fear budddyy! it's how the brain works so that when something happens u're ready to fight or flight, see.. when you get scared the brain enhances your sight and hearing so u can be ready to act when the thing attacks or is about to.

It is called a "fight or flight" response. When you feel threatened, your body releases adrenaline and other hormones. Those hormones cause your pupils to dilate (for better vision) and your brain to decifer information more efficiently (better hearing).
