I agree with Jim C., volunteering is good for you.
You didn't mention you age, either in the question, or your profile, so it's hard to give you suggestions on what kind of volunteering to do.

well depending on age you can volunteer at your local animal shelter of museum, you could get a part time job, or go back to school and take classes on line
