First of all, I come from a Southern state, and we were NEVER part of Mexico. We were part of Spain at one time, as well as part of France, and we weren't too happy when we became part of America. But that was a long time ago and we have gotten over it. We wouldn't want the French and probably not even the Spanish to claim us again. We are America. We are Americans. And the French have France, just like the Mexicans have Mexico. This is sort of like the argument that I was sitting in that seat on the bus yesterday so now you have to get up and give it to me. Palestine and Texas are completely different issues. Would you want that mess in the US? Do you equate the Texans with the Palestinians? Do you equate the Mexicans with the Israelis? I don't think they will thank you for the comparison.

Also, what land were the Jews coming from? Did they have their own country already? Perhaps you have forgotten a little thing called the Holocaust. Perhaps the Greeks should move back into Turkey and the Turks should take over the entire former Ottoman empire. Or we could go farther back in time and allow the Italians/Romans to take over the entire Mediterranian area, including all of Persia/Iran, and parts of India. While we're at it, let's give the Austrians most of Eastern Europe. Germany controlled most of Western Europe at one time. Perhaps we should give it back to them. China controlled Korea, North and South, but then Japan controlled China. Hmmmm where do we stop?

There weren't many mexicans living the the SW. When the US got the teritories (which were paid for) there were maybe 8,000 mexicans living there and most decided to stay. If they stayed and became US citizens then they and their descendents already have a right to return, just like any other US citizen. Those Mexicans wanting to reconquer the SW US were never there so they have no right to return.

If you'll read up on the Mexican American War you'll see that nearly another 1/4 of Mexico almost became US property, including Mexico City, but the US was feeling generous to the defeated people.
