Why hasent anyone ever asked themself why god says in deuteronomy 22;28 if you rape a woman -and are caught you must pay a fine to the womans father then marry her as punishment.and in 24 and 25 it says you can leave your wife for any reason also if your husband is fighting a man and your wife tries to stop it by grabbing the mans balls you should chop of her hand for punishment. in judges 19;23 the owner of the house says not to rape his friends because there protcted by god .instead rape my virgin daughter and her friend. or in deut 21;10 in a war if one of your captives is beautiful and you are actracted to her you can take her home to be one of your wives...after you all read those

Women in love with Jesus, men in love with Jesus - anyone else find it a bit creepy?
As if the women are fixated on an unrealistic male figure (rather lustfully, might I add) and the many of the men fixating their male love on Jesus, because it's a "sin" to have an intimate relationship with another man?

Anyone else find it a bit creepy how people are "in love" with Jesus?

Yes, I fully understand the different kinds of love - love for family, romantic love, and so forth.

What I'm saying though, is that the love for Jesus expressed by (most) Christians seems rather creepy to me in that it is not the kind of love one has for family, but a lustful fillfillment of some sort. Note that lust does not necessarily mean sexual, but it is a precursor for it.

With the image of Jesus (iconography and such) and his description, it look like there's some serious search for love - in a lustful, romantic sort of way - a psychological but unaware fullfillment sent in this romanticized man, idealized to perfection that, really, is contradicted in the Bible and the gospels (not to mention the unincluded gospels of the time).
