I don't really eat red meat.. only every once in a great while. Earlier this year I tried to donate blood but I couldn't because my hemotocin(?) level was like 5% below and lately I've been pretty light-headed lol. I'm just trying to figure out what might be causing the light-headedness.. Iron deficiency came to mind so I looked up the symptoms and everything but I'd like to hear personal ones too.

I know what you mean, im anaemic. It's important that you eat foods rich in iron. These foods include spinach, and red meat. You could take supplements if you really wanted to. You may feel light headed because you have a lack of red blood cells, caused by a deficiency of iron, this causes a lack of oxygen to be transported around your body, resulting in tiredness, and sometimes headaches. This is because there is not enough hameoglobin to transport oxygen around your body. It's especially important for females to eat foods rich in iron (due to menstrual cycle), so try eating more greens, red meat and eggs ( a great source). If your symptoms persist, please talk to your GP. Hope this helps.

One of the symptoms my doctor looks for is she pulls down the bottom of my eyes and has a look at the skin inside the eye. If it is very pale (as opposed to red or dark pink) it can indicate that you are anemic. It is very common for women to be iron deficient. You doctor can do a blood test to determine this. Also you can feel tired and worn down. If so your doctor might prescribe iron supplement. It is recommended that you take it on an empty stomach with a bit of acidy juice (such as orange juice) to help with absorption. Also spinach contains a lot of iron and you could try iron fortified cereals.

Yep I was light headed and really pale. I ate liver and onions with gravy and broccoli every day for a week went on a iron horse pill and added green leafy vegetables and more meat to my diet. Low iron levels can cause serious health risk. Seek a doctor.

Giddiness and pale face. Don't worry about it. It can be cured.
Iron tablets should do the job.
See www.wikipedia.com and search for "iron deficiency".
