What's the event? and what are the ages of the atendees? Are you looking for LIQUOR or LIQUEURS?

If you're planning a party for those who are not legal to consume alcoholic beverages, anything you get will be fine 'cause they'll be so happy just to be drinking. You can go with a keg of Natty Ice, some Boones and a bottle of Goldschlager and everyone will be happy and all the girls will be drunk.

Now if you want to plan your drink list with some taste... Its always good to have each of a bottle of "tried and trues" such as vodka, rum, whiskey. You can mix these into any assortment of non-alcohol bevs like OJ, Cranberry juice, Coke, etc and you'll be set. Also, have the supplies for at least one trendy drink (Mojitos are the big thing right now- Rum, fine sugar, fresh mint & limes) Get good at mixing them before hand and show off your skills. As far as beer, there'll always be the cretins who view Coors Light as the beer of beers, but don't debase yourself! Splurge a little and get some decent beer. Depending where you live, this could be really easy or really difficult. Bass, Dos Equis, some local micro brews... If you're in doubt about what to buy, ask any guy working at a liquor store or beverage center to recommend something. They should be more than happy and willing to recomend somthing.

Oh, and don't skimp when buying hard alcohol. The best way to screw up a good drink is with cheap booze. This doesn't mean you have to buy a $50 bottle of vodka, but don't buy the $6 plastic gallon jug. An $18 bottle of Svedka would be suitable.

DiSarano (maraschino cherry taste), Frangelico (hazelnut), Jagermeister (herbal-serve chilled), Drambuie (scotch-honey liqueur), limoncello (creamy lemon-serve chilled), Baileys (irish whiskey cream liqueur-seve chilled). Kahlua or Starbuck's coffee liqueur, Barenjager (honey liqueur). Also, the staples of any good bar are: vodka (ketel one, smirnoff...), rum (bacardi light and/or captain morgan spiced), tequila (jose cuervo, patron), whiskey (jack daniels), scotch (dewars, johnnie walker), I also like to have some irish whiskey on hand!

There is a honey liquor but I don't know the name of it but it comes in a beehive looking bottle with little bees on it. It is great as a desert liqueur.

Depends on the occassion, but most cases wine and beer is good.

Prefer whisky when alone or with one friend, the rest would depend on your mood!
