I would recommend wearing makeup as this should reduce your pale appearence. Then wear something flattering, because you will have to look at it every holiday for the next 10 years. I would also recommend taking your own photo on a digital camera that way you can keep snapping until you have an image you are really happy with. Then go to http://www.epassportphoto.com/ and load your picture. You can set your picture to US or European size and print them off for pennies. That way you should get a good picture. Make sure to look at the guidance for photos for the country your passport is for and follow them carefully. Hope that helps!

The dreaded passport photo! Only surpassed by the insidious drivers license picture. I feel your pain, I am not pale but do not photograph well. Your passport will be valid for ten years so getting a picture that you can at least feel the custom agents won't be laughing about after you pass through would be nice for sure. Try a professional photography studio, it may cost more but you'll be happy every time you have to show the passport.

I once heard that if you looked like your passport photo you were too ill to travel!!! lol
I looked at my daughters this morning and thought it was my son's, she hates it but only ever uses it once a year the rest of the time it is in our safe, so she not's that bothered.
I would go to a booth and most of them now let you look at it on screen before processing it. I thing you have about three go's before it takes the final one. If you did it this way, at least you will get a half decent picture and not be shocked at the final outcome.

Just have your hair how you normally have it, I'd go for having it down and like wavyish. If you looked pale then put a bit of nice, pinky blusher on to give you some colour, but only a small, natural looking amount. To apply it, smile and dust it lightly onto the apples of your cheeks (the bits that go out the most when you smile), alternatively you can pout and sweep the blusher in a soft stroke all the way down your cheekbone. For eyes just look as natural as possible, go for a couple of coats of mascara on the top eyelashes and a small amount on the outside bottom lashes. If that is not enough but a subtle line of liquid eyeliner on top, but definitely nothing underneath. It really doesn't matter what colour top you have, but green goes well with auburn, as do most colours just avoid red, orange and pink kind of colours :)

Ahh you want to look nice.........When taking a photo dont think about it, imagine you are somewhere else and then quickly take the photo, it will come out looking more natural.
A little blusher wont go a miss.

Best idea is to go to a photo shop and get them to do it. Avoid using the booths. Price in shop is the same and they will take a much better photo.

i took my own passport photos, resized it to the correct dimensions in photoshop and printed them locally for a total of $0.25. As long as you meet the size requirement and neutral background...

Go to a professional photography studio. They will charge you quite a bit more, but your photo's will be more flattering.
My friend got hers done by the Walmart photographer... they weren't too horrid!
