he was an Indian man who studied law (i think outside india), when the British invaded India and wanted to force them to be completely dependent on Britain for food and clothes he stood up to them refusing to use their stuff. he made his own cloth, sewed his own clothes and grew his own food. he was a real symbol of power, independence, and will. i can't really remember the rest but i'd advise u to get the movie, it's definitly worth watching, and u'll remember better than just reading a book coz it's visual.
