For the last few days I have been putting a pull-up on my 3 year old son at night because of bedwetting accidents. This morning his foreskin is very puffy and swollen (he is uncircumcised). It's not particularly red but definitely not normal looking. What could this be?
(I'll be calling the doctor as soon as the office opens in an hour.)

Please spare me any questions about my decision not to circumcise or suggest that I should have him circumcised. That is not the issue here and has nothing to do with my question. Thank you!

its probably iritation from the bedwetting, but it could be a yeast infection as well, yeast grows in wet damp and warm places. if he is not circumsiced he is more suseptible to iritation and infections as it is a little more difficult to keep the area clean until he gets old enough to do it himself. none of my boys are circumsiced either. i would definately get him to the dr asap as a yeast or bladder infection can seriously affect a young child.of course, him being three, he also could have been pulling on the area during the night because it is irritated anyway due to the bed wetting. could be itchy.

My 2-year-old gets a rash sometimes, but it never really becomes puffy and swollen. It's from a combination of the heat and his diaper. I just use a good diaper rash cream on the area, which helps a lot. It may be a good idea to get him checked out by his doctor in case he may have an infection. You can never be too careful.

The doctor will be able to give you a better answer. I'm trying to guess irritated skin (heat wave where you are too?) or perhaps little urinary infection. Maybe something different in his diet making his urine different and irritating to his skin. The doctor will ease your concern. Good luck!

Might be irritated from the pull-up or might have not gotten cleaned very well since he is not circumcised.

he might be experiencing a illergic reation to the pull ups? has he used them before with no problem? if he has then it might be that he has some type of infection maybe. best to let the doctor see it

i think its from not being properly cleaned and dried esp from the circumcision-ever considered getting him circumcised-from a adult female point of view-my ex-husband was not circum-and it was not attractive-im not trying to be mean im just thinking of him when he gets older and has a female relationship

it could be from the pull up. It might just be a bug bite that is infected or he had an allergic reaction to the bug bite.

It may be from the heat and wetness. pull ups are not very breathable.
