I just burned a load of CDs for a friend, but all the ones that are mixed (most of them) have a short silence between each track. This is most irritating. I used windows media player for the burning. What can I use instead that will cut out the spaces?

I use Nero 6 and it doesn't do that on mine.

There is a setting on Nero which allows you to burn tracks without spaces in between. Its called "Remove silence at end of track" make sure it is ticked. It comes under the " CDA OPTIONS"
EAC or exact audio copy will not remove the silences. As it says EXACT audio copy.

Optimize Your CD Burns free with Burn to the Brim. This program requires Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP operating system.

This program will group your files together so that you don’t waste any space on the CD. It selects which group of files optimally fills a CD or CDs. Once it determines the group of files to burn, you can drag and drop those files into your burning program.

This program is not very intuitive. You will probably need to read the FAQ and instructions here: http://bttb.sourceforge.net/Help/

Media player does not allow you to burn that way. Nero and many other software options offer an EAC (Exact Audio Copy) option

if you're using nero version 6 and 7, it has an option where it says "no pause between tracks" you can check that option and you'll be happy with the results.
