After giving him some time to cool off, write him a little note saying you're sorry and maybe one of the ways you'd like to show him just how....sorry....you are. :) It'll be cute...he won't be able to get it out of his head.
And above all, be sincere. There's nothing more compelling from a person who has hurt your feelings than true remorse.
