I believe that for many of us, that the belief in life after death is not only part of our faith, that our existence here on earth needs to be more than this life. Whether or not a person is a christian does not effect the belief in life after death, for or against, it may only intensify it. Most religions believe in some form of life after death, reincarnation, heaven, etc.
No one is a "Lost Cause", you just need to start believing more in yourself, that's a good start! Good Luck!

Your only life after death would be a painting you painted, a novel you wrote, a house you built, a child you produced, etc. These were all products of your living soul (which Aristotle defined as the functions of your bodily form).
The Biltmore House is the afterlife of George Vanderbilt, Romeo & Juliet is the afterlife of William Shakespeare, The Mona Lisa is the afterlife of Leonardo da Vinci, etc.
Do something great- that will be your afterlife. Until then- enjoy life as it comes.
P.S. Don't start feeling guilty, it's not your fault! Read John Shelby Spong's, "Why Christianity Must Change or Die: A Bishop Speaks to Believers In Exile".

You were accurate in saying you have been estranged - this does not mean you have been severed. You're not a lost cause - you're on the right path - remember the first time you knelt and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and reveal himself to you - then do it just like that - remember how you confessed that you knew he was the son of God - then do it - only now add that you know you have wondered out into a field he didn't intend for you too, but you need him to reach out and help bring you back into a valley that he has designed for you and that in his forgiveness of you, you forgive you, and as you cleanse your mind, he'll cleanse your heart - and then you will have a bypass that allows you to breathe once again and you will be reinvigorated and you will crawl and pull up and walk and run and you will find this time, you don't even want to look back and you don't miss the way it was at all - I did like you - and now, I'm one of the most physically ill people I know, sinning has its consequences, but I'm one of the most bright eyed, happy, content people you could ever meet - I just started letting Jesus call the shots and what a freedom of life it has brought to me. And He and I are working on the consequences and he's bringing about healing- and as a result of the years I separated myself from Him, he has allowed me to reach out and touch the lives of people who know what it is to hurt and have sorrow and heartache, to have suffered at the hands of the world and who want to live in the comfort of Christ. So, you've done the hard part, realized you wanted to come home, so come home - we're all ready for you too, and we as humans are, can you imagine how much more so Christ is?

Yes, according to Hindu faith there is life after death.
Even if u have not practised ur faith but have lead life as a good human being u have not erred.
Most ppl let religion take a back seat when pursuing careers family obligations etc ; and get back to it when time permits. Anytime is good time. Remember the slow tortoise won the race from the early starter - the rabbit.

We have the same problem. I oftenly ask this kind of question to myself. The existence of life after death is in our faith perhaps.
Never say that it's too late. I believe we still have the chance.
I am now far to my church because my job requires me to jump from one country to another. SOmetimes I am assigned in a place where there is a limited number of christians but we have the same goal. Do good here on earth to have a good life after.
This is the same thing that other religions are believing in.

You don't give much information, but I think that since you desire to return to your father's house, maybe the prodigal son's story fits you a "T". So, at first glance, of course there is a way back! You have to make a firm decision. God has been patiently waiting for you all these years. God bless you.

It is all wishfull thinking, since the time of the first humans that had some awareness of being alive they wanted to perpetuate living so mitology was invented. There are no heaven, or hell, no gods, or spirits, nothing, just atoms and molecules that compose and decompose things including us. Sorry.
