And why? I would have to say that so far, mine is 'The Garden of Earthly Delights' by Hieronymus Bosch (at least that's what I think it is at the moment - I'll probably remember one I like more later!) I like it's intricacy and playfulness.

Mine is Renoir's 'Two Young Girls at the Piano' (1892). I've liked many others, but this remains my all time favorite. The scene of two sisters at the piano singing together is sweet and soothing to the eye. Renoir's stokes, which make the painting appear as though it were on a textile that only he has ever seen, does not dampen the boldness of the colors. One of the best impressionist paintings ever to be commissioned.

I love Breugel's "Landscape with the Fall of Icarus."

Do you know the poems about it? There are at least 2:
One by William Carlos Williams of the same name, and "Musee des Beaux Arts" by W. H. Auden.

I'm also a big Bosch fan. Have always been fascinated by "The Last Judgement" triptych.

Emil Nolde's collection of sea paintings, the colours are so powerful and the texture of the paintings really emphasises the feeling of the piece.
Other than those my boyfriend does a lot of paintings, he's very good and had an exhibition in LA a few years ago, most of his paintings are sentimental and personal.

Its one of mine, I also like Death and the Maiden. I recently saw the icons at St Katherines Monastery and you can really see where his inspiration came from. I have to say I do have a soft spot for the Victorian Classicists.

I have to say mine is done by me. But I do like digital air work. I think paintings are old hat, other than the Sunflowers or Scream.
