My boyfriend thinks that getting me a kit kat from the vending machine is romantic.

Has it died?

PS. The kit kat thing did not really happen, it is just an example of the way he thinks.

If you need Hollywood romance, then get a new boyfriend. But some guys are just not romantic type of guys. And if he feels getting you a kit kat from a vending machine is romantic, then thank him for it, not belittle his efforts. He'll not put in any additional effort in being romantic if you don't like what he does now.

Also, easiest way to start getting flowers, chocolate, cards, or whatever else you are craving, then start doing stuff such as this for him. I once bought my guy one rose, ever since then he buys me flowers or better yet he'll go out with the kids and make a fabulous flower arrangement for me out of wild flowers.

If you want romance, you have to show him how to do so, tell him how or just get a new guy.

Romance hasn't died. You just have to be willing to look for it in the most unpredictable places. The kit kat thing could have been romantic depending on the situation. It also depends on what your idea of being romantic is. It could be spending a lot of money on a nice hotel and dinner or it could be a walk along the beach at sunset or just saying the right thing at the right time...it could be as little as a simple caress.

good question!!! romance has died considerably I think (ok Im only 29 ) but I think compared to stories you'd hear from years back were really romantic!!!
I think the reason lots of guys no longer have the romance in em is coz society classes these kinda guys as wusses!!! If only guys would realise how indebted and loved up us women would be if they showed a romantic streak now and again - the bedroom rewards they'd get!!! MEN - take note!!!!

This depends a lot of the type of person he is and on how he has been taught in his family, the way he has been raised. Usually, when you like a girl, you try to do nice things for her. Men are not romantic persons by nature, they are more practical in many aspects. You should give him hints or tell him directly about the things yoy would like and that you consider romantic. Men can't read minds :). Communication is everything!

Have you talked to him about this? Maybe the issue is that he may think that those types of things satisfy you. I could very well me a case of not communication. You really need to just sit down and talk. Believe me it does work I had the same problem with my fiance at one point in time and now things are 100% better.

I hope things work out!:)

Women are too easy these days so no need to put in the effort. Romance is the equivalent of the elaborate displays that male birds make to attract a mate. Why go to all the trouble if you don't have to.

Most men find the concept of romance difficult to comprehend, just as most women have difficulty understanding why men want to drive fast. I think you could be looking for an excuse to move on, talk with your bf and if he doesn't seem like your perfect man, consider being friends instead.

For me its cute and sweet! Sometimes you should also appreciate simple things. Don't expect too much.. There are still alot of romantic guys out there. Its just a matter of appreciating them even with simple things that they do. Ask your self also if you are romantic to your guy, coz if you are then for sure he will exert more effort on being romantic to you.
