bad breath is normal in the morning if within normal and can be easily removed by using the brush again first thing in the morning
It has many possible causes .. Bacteria grows fast in the warmth of the mouth over the night to produce with the saliva and any food debris some bad smelling substances on the surface of the teeth ..
Stronger and more resistant smells may happen due to stomach troubles, gum inflammations, decayed teeth and mouth ulcers.
If you have permanent problem you got to consult your dentist to remove the cause behind.

You have bad breath in the morning even when you brush at night because between 4am to 12noon, your body will focus on detox.
When detox is taking place, your tongue will start to layer itself with a layer of ill-smelling mucus, your eyes may also have icky stuff.
Also, while you may have already brushed your teeth, there are still some bacteria inside your mouth and they will continue to grow and multiply during the night.

Yes the microbes in your mouth propagate in your mouth overnight and that is the cause of bad breath.
As many already know, the reason why this occurs during sleep is because of the reduced salivary flow rate that contains 2 types of antibodies, primarily salivary igE. Salivary igE binds onto the microbes and thus prevent them from binding onto other bacteria in plaque. This binding effect also makes it easier for us to swallow the bacteria as they held into clusters. During sleep we also do not swallow our saliva and hence more reason why the bacteria is allowed to propagate in our mouths faster.
Another thing to know is that after you brush your teeth, microbiologists believe that within 2 seconds a biofilm begins to form immediately which acts as a foundation for dental plaque to form on top. Furthermore, no matter how well you brush your teeth there are still millions and millions of bugs in your mouth!

Because when you sleep you are lying flat and some of the acid in your stomach comes up, as do gases and germs from your stomach.
