I've tried washing it with a regular shampoo and conditioner as well as a cleansing shampoo, sometimes even twice. But somehow, I can never really get the smell out until 2 days later.

If u truly cannot get the smell out for 2 days, even after washing it 2x...its time to learn how to wash your hair the right way, or don't go into those bars, what exactly are they smoking???
It is illegal to smoke in bar here anymore, but even when u could I NEVER had a 2-3 day issue with this...change your shampoo, shampoo and scrub...or just stay out of those bars...

use a good hair perfume or something or avoid standing near smokers in a pub or wherever u go.... and when u exit from the pub give ur hair a mild wash... carry a small sachet of ur fav shampoo with u.....

Between the shampoo and conditioner, take a cup of lemon juice (room temperature) and comb thru hair. That should take all odors out.

there are some hair sprays which keeps nice smell on ur hair or just take a nice shower with a good smelling conditioner and shampoo....thats it

Sounds to me that you may lighten your hair. (Highlights/Bleach) Your cuticle is still open and absorbing the odors. You'll need to use a good post-color conditioner that shuts down the cuticle. This should help...

Wash it because theres nothing eles you can really do any kind of freshener like perfume will only mask it.
