It depends on what you mean by cake. If you mean a sweet made from flour, eggs, sugar...and think of bread as a savory food then yes. If you understand cake to be what English speakers understand it to be then no. For example panettone is as sweet and dessert like as cake but it is technically a bread.

Yeast takes time to bake into a recipe and has a different end result as far as texture of the finished product. It is mainly used for a bread-like texure in a roll , ring bread or dessert. Baking powder and yeast are two different ingredients and cannot be interchanged or substituted in recipes for each other. Using Baking powder in a recipe like quick bread is as similiar as it gets. Using yeast in recipes, take at least 2-3 hours to accomplish something of a finished nature. My thoughts on the different uses of yeast and baking powder are for two different categories of baking. Breads/use yeast. cake, cupcake, cookies, and cake type muffins/use baking powder

No... Yeast is a leavening agent and baking powder is a raising agent... You absolutely cannot use it... As the previous person who replied said, it will turn out to be a hard bread like substance instead of a cake...

NO! Not unless you want a flat cake, because the yeast will have to have time to proof, that is, create co2 bubbles, which is what causes the rising.

I'm pretty sure you could, but who would want to eat it? Yeast has a distinct odor and taste that wouldn't be welcome in a cake - yuck!
