Hi Jim and thanks for the nod.
I quote from Scripture because apart from God I only have limited knowledge. I believe that humans have evolved over time, but not from haphazard primordeal ooze. I was created on purpose from a loving Creator who has a purpose for me. He doesn't need me to accomplish His plans, but He chose to create me for His good pleasure.

I am one of the people you list but I am a Catholic and we don't take the story of creation in the Bible literally.

Catholics believe Genesis tells religious truth but not historical fact.

The religious truth is that God created everything and declared all was good.

The Church supports science in the discovery of God's creation. At this time, the theory of evolution is the most logical scientific explanation. However tomorrow someone may come up with a better idea.

As long as we believe that God started the whole thing, both the Bible and modern science can live in harmony.

With love in Christ.

1 Corinthians 6:9 (Whole Chapter)
Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality.

Favorite quote tells you who goes to Heaven.

LOL! I was about to say 'yes!'

Haha it's good to be noticed...

Remember, you can ultimately break down everything in the Bible scientifically. "Belief" is a shortcut. I mean, the hierarchy of explaining certain Biblical ideas scientifically is just too lengthy to wait for a word-for-word, piece-by-piece explanation. "Faith" or "belief" is like a loan until they are explained.
