The best fix for this problem is to busy your mouth and mind by doing something else.A switch to food over cigarettes is probably a sign of oral fixation. It's entirely possible that something like chewing sugar free gum can help.If this works then your weight will probably return to normal in a while.Try to eat lower calorie foods in the meantime. The may help stop your weight gain until you adjust.Bring the gum with you everywhere just like you did with the cigarettes. Many good diet tips in my best answers.

Weight-gain and appetite increase are normal. All the chemicals from the cigarette were suppressing it. I usually down a few Cokes and my appetite is far reduced! The caffeine and syrup is heavy on the stomach... but a liquid doesn't have much mass to offer, so weight gain would only come from food that is consumed after.

Like the other person said, excersize. Then change your food choices. It's not hunger making you eat, it's that you need to keep something in your mouth. Keep healthy snacks around like veggies. Also chew sugar free gum and candies.Drink lots of water. It will help you feel full.
