Many people view them differently.
Some people would be really, really ticked off if Religion were considered a subset of Mythology and Folklore...
Not worth that, so separate them... no biggie.
One man's religion (other parts of the world - not Western) is another man's Mythology....

In the first place, I would like to point out that the term "myth" does not always carry with it the idea of falsity, but that is a minor issue. A more important question: why are all matters of theology relegated to the realm of religion and spirituality?

The sort of prejudice you seem to have against theism and for anti-supernaturalism is already embraced by many if not most of the people who are on Answers. Perhaps it is a bit drastic to label it anti-supernaturalism in all cases, but it certainly seems to me that most people today, nominally Christian or not, have embraced Kant's distinction between the numinal and phenomenal realms to such a degree that they do not even realize the subtle attacks on theism and theistic epistemology.

It is significant that there is no category for theology on Answers. Why? "Religion" is a term for a set or sets of particular types of human behavior. Much the same could be said of the term "spirituality." These two terms are much more friendly (or at least neutral) to actual truth claims from theists and others, but mythology and folklore often imply falsity. Theology, on the other hand, is a term for the study of God. Where religion deals with human behaviors, theology deals with the actual nature of God.

So, in short, it's because Yahoo! doesn't want to upset certain types of theists that they have kept religion and spirituality distinct from mythology and folklore. However, I contend that to really do justice to Christian truth claims, theology and history subcategories would probably be in the same larger category. I just can't imagine how that system would work as far as the other categories...

Religion and myth is a different topic. Religion is not a myth for most people. Some people do think so.
