Hi. I'm living in the Philippines. I'm currently studying in a university where fraternities are illegal. The university will expel students participating in fraternities.
In one of my subjects, we need to present a panel discussion about the legallization of fraternities in my university. I hope you can give your comments, insights.. or anything worth sharing. I want to know the advantages, disadvantages, effects to the student.. and also some experiences regarding this. I really need it badly.. I'm under time pressure.. Thanks guys. Your comments and suggestions.. or stories.. will be highly appreciated..
God bless!

Of all places, institutions of higher education should not expel people for learning and practicing different ways fo living. Preposterous! You should expel your university, as it does not sound like an insttuion of higher learning who bans anything related tot he way in which you live should be accrdieted, much less receivign your money. What a shame.
I was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity in the USA, a very positive group whose members include US President Calvin Coolidge, Golfer Jack Nicklaus, many business and community leaders. They are as positive as any other living organization, and I challenge any others to list as many leaders.

sounds like me, leaving assignments till the last second. omg i cant believe you cant have fraternities. I wouldnt go uni if we didnt have...seriously a lot of university students' motivation to come to university is so that they can be part of a club. A disadvantage could be creating a political atmosphere in which could disrupt academic development.

sure they should! I go to UC Santa Barbara, ranked the number 2 party school in the U.S. so of course there are frats and sororities, but from what I can tell, they aren't just about partying. They're about supporting each other. So yes, they should be legalized! They DO have standards, yanno!

I feel strongly that Fraternities are silly, click, little beer drinking party boys, that stand up for their brothers right or wrong, and that's not right. Although I despise them, if asked to determine whether or not they shall become illegal, I would definitely say no way.
