The Bible was written by human beings, and that's exactly what the problem is. So we can't be absolutely sure about the truth of various passages (any passages really), so there's where the faith comes in. And you can accept that or not.

God through humans who were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
God exists. Satan exits too
Men of God wrote the Bible with God's inspiration. They were just the tools for the Divine Author. And Yes, the Bible can absolutely be truted and believed to be true

You're asking some huge questions here. All the things you ask are all only answered in one enigmatic way: Faith. If you believe strongly enough they exist, then they do (for you, at least). That's from an emotional viewpoint. If you have a 5 hours or so, visit the following links (in order):

This is probably the definitive explanation of how the Bible came into being. Read with an open mind, and you could actually unlearn some of the things you've been taught. Most of the stories of the Bible were handed down generation to generation VERBALLY, for many centuries, before being committed to paper and included as stories in the Bible. Once you get through the Straight Dope's exhaustive essay, here's a link to the books which were submitted for inclusion in the Bible, but were rejected for one reason or another. You be the judge as to why:

Bible was written by several people. The old testament was written by scholars, and the new testament was written by the disciples and the followers of the disciples.
Does god exist? That is the question everyone must answer for themselves.
Does Satan? Maybe, but Satan may be an analogy for the evil which is in us all.
The Bible was written by man, but inspired by God. The real question of life and it's meaning is that of faith. Can you have faith in something you cant see? Can you believe in something greater than yourself?
If so, you are on your way to knowing God. But it is the search to know him which is truly important.

First of all, there are many version of the Bible written by mortals, that would be us, humans. Theologians however, point out that the Bible, though written by people, were inspired by God. To make it short, God was the idea behind the writing and the ordinary mortals the scibes.

The bible is many books in one written by men who were given direct words from God or inspired by God. The bible has been scrutinized and tested for its faliablity since it was written, and it has passed.
Go ahead and give it a go. Read the book of John.

i dont know who wrote it but it seems to me that it is a load of bullsh*t... there is no such thing as god or the devil and no god didnt write the bible it was some guy that wanted to belive something and he got some followers now it is a major thing for a religion but not even religion makes sense its all muddled up and wrong alot of wars have passed because of religion... it causes death and it leaves no mercy the bible really was just a mess up in time!! TRUST ME I HAVE BEEN ABOUT 29 DIFFERENT RELIGIONS!!! And none seem to do the job and convince me to believe in god all religion is doing is brainwashing people... :)

The bible has many authors. The holy spirit assisted the writers to right was they saw. Most of the writers experienced what is written in the book. Did you know that Mary Magdelene wrote her version but it was not good enough to make to the bible.
