My dog, Tyson ate my girlfriends cat Tibbles yesterday ..... all that remained were a few bones, and whiskers .... Tibbles was a little black cat, should I replace it or just own up ..... Tysons not happy, he knows he's done wrong, and I don't think he'd do it again!

Firstly you need to own up and DON'T get another as your dog is obviously not good with cats. (Of course if your girlfriend doesn;t live with you she can get another but you must never leave them alone).
Do not have him put down - if you act responsibly there is no reason he could not have a happy and harm free life. And regarding him knowing he has done wrong, he only knows he did wrong if you caught him in the act and told him off then - otherwise he was just picking up on you emotions and trying to appease you, he won't link that back to eating a cat a while ago.

Do the Pavlov method, get a cat and show it to your dog and hit him with a newspaper, with the time the dog will make a relationship among cats and pain.

What ur dog did was quite natural coz dogs and cats are mortal enemies. Replace ur girlfriends cat and tell her that ur very sorry and please dont let ur dog on her cat again(even if u didnt do it purposely). Keep ur dog leashed when u know there is gonna another animal around.....

I think you girlfriend should buy a hungry lion and leave it along with Tyson in the house together over night!!!! He will REALLY know he's done wrong then!!! :-)

Don't you think if you get another small aminal your dog will eat it again. That is some pets nature and apparently is for your pet. My dog kills birds and looks at me to say sorry mom I won't do it again but the next time he see a bird or bunny its dead!!!

Give the dog a tooth pick. Get the g/f another kitty and tell her to be more careful with it.... I mean if see gonna let the thing roam free what does she expect.

dont punish ur dog...cats & dogs shouldnt live together even if they do get on sometimes coz nature intended them to hate each other so just tell her u want another dog not no hair ball cat!!
