I mean, do you think that all immigrants should just round up all of the people who are against immigration and mercilessly slaughter them in the streets? Maybe parade around town with their heads on stakes? Personally, I don't think that. I think that would be a terribly nasty thing to do to those people. Of course, it's a big old world out there and a lot of people have different ideas. Do you think that all the legal people should gather the illegal people and slaughter them in the streets? Mercilessly? Parade around town with their head on stakes? I read the question...and I'm against illegal people...I also think that to become a citizen should be a VERY VERY strict process along with learning English!

(Sorry, I read this so long ago that the source escapes me; maybe the Autobiography, maybe something else.)
I think the Americans have a right to expect that their laws should be obeyed; but they're exasperated by this demonstration that some laws are simply unenforceable, and they're doing all this thrashing and moaning because they have no idea what to put in their place.

You are a very barbaric person. I personally do not like immigrants coming to my country in droves with all their children and their cousins. I am not racist and my great-grandparents came to the U.S. as immigrants themselves. But at this moment, we are trying to fight urban sprawl and illegal immigration. So I just have to say that I truly resent your remark. You are to say that people should be able to go wherever they want, live there as long as they want and not have to go by any laws? Well it's the voting public in this good US of A that made and voted for those laws. Show some respect and try to see the other person's point of view.

It's an interesting question.
I'd like to have the opportunity of freely decide where I want to live and move from one country to the other without problem, including the discrimination of the "native people".
I think it's nice that in Europe you can move from one country to the other of the EU without big problems.
But Now I'm trying to move from Italy to US and God knows how hard it is if you want to do everything legally.
I'd like people not to be scared by immigrants, coz it's true that some of them are violent and have criminal intents, but I'm sure that the majority moves away from their homes just to work.
And that should be supported.

Immigration is a problem to be regulated but in a humane procedure. Anti-immigration people should just be corrected or reminded to be kind but with no harsh punishment.

Umm...if you were in Canada, then I would tell you that there wouldn't be enough non-immigrants to do any damage. And that we rely on immigrants as a major contributors to society. Without them we wouldn't have enough people to keep our country running. Pretty cool, huh?
