Yes. I think about this a lot. I am a Hindu and the empahsis in the vedas is it is important to work towards this. Each individual can make a serious contribution to this world either for good or bad. Each person who is serious about peace needs to live by example. It doesn't matter what religion you are, each faith and even just basic humanity demands that you treat others and the world around you as you expect to be treated, with love, faith, honesty, decency.

The Law is just a word that has to be acted on by people. Religion is just a word that has to be acted upon by people. People break laws everyday if they can get away with it and atheism and agnosticism are just as religious - just their beliefs are self serving to a greater or lesser degree. There is not one man on this earth who could possibly make this world a better place let alone perfect. No one is worthy of this task apart from Jesus. There is not one person, not one Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or just general good person who can measure up to the standards of what is required to make this world work. It is too hard for us, because we are all influenced by the world. Only God knows the hows and whens of coordinating His people at the optimum moment so that they come to Him even those who would seem undeserving of it to us in ways that might even seem awful. It is the purpose that is good and if He needs to use what Satan has done to get us to Him then that is how he will do it. We can never be as all seeing and as all knowing - we can only speculate on things in the small picture we are given.
So there will be no resolution without His intervention try as we might. Man couldn't even get it right when there were 2 people on this earth let alone billions. We are not advancing in morals and ethics, we are declining. Every man has interfered in someone else's life detrimentally to a greater or lesser degree and who knows what these things trigger off down the track. Who knows who will cop the brunt of someone else's bad day. I could no sooner know what the person next to me is going to do with all the things that have affected his life than fly to the moon, let alone how billions of people will deal with their issues. Some do it badly, some bottle it up, some pass it onto their children etc. It can take a long time before the effects of sin, yours or someone else's, to become apparent. For a man to know anything beyond his own boundaries is impossible and can he only satisfy a small ratio of people at any one time, based on what he knows, which ain't much in the big picture of things. God, through Jesus Christ is the only way and is the only One who has 'promised' to redeem our lives and make us fit for an eternal life with Him on a new earth. He has forfilled a lot of His promises that no 'other' has or has even dared to put forward and there are more yet to be forfilled. No 'others' have been bold enough to offer anything like it, and it is not by chance that they were included as part of His Word. It was to show His authenticity. Therefore, I have more doubt in man's ability than God's Word.

i believe the answer is consideration.
there are many different types of people in this world and if we could only consider each other then the world would be much happier.
however we all need to find some forgiveness first and drop all the resentments we have towards each other.
i do my part by trying to get through each day without hurting anyone else, it makes my life happier, and if everyone else did this.... wow, what a great world we would have!

As much as the USA would like us all to believe that terrorism is based upon religious and ideological hatred it is in fact caused predominantly by poverty. If we removed farm subsidies and world wide patents on drugs then developing countries would move on. Unfortunately many share-holders don't like this idea as their companies may only make $3 billion a year rather than the $5 billion per year they make killing people. Leukaemia drugs for example are $14 per pill of which 4 are required per day. How can someone living in Palestine/Africa/Indonesia afford this when the average wage is $5 per week

1) yes, i think of it (as did J. Lennon...)
2) it's extremely important we work toward that goal!
3) each of us MUST be a part of the effort!
4) HOW? We need to drop all the religious crap for starters; we need to realize that we are a common species on this planet and have various coloration, sizes, shapes, hair, eyes, and general appearance; we need to accept that we are of various cultures and diets and habits and SEE those as things of interest, instead of targets to ridicule!
(gods aren't the answer to anybody's questions, you unthinking zealots-- YOUR mind sets have caused the discord and wars throughout history!!! Your belief in an easter bunny, santa claus or the tooth faerie is a figment of your feeble imaginations... you can pray yourselves to sleep nightly and never change a damned thing, except your sleep pattern! Have someone read you Alice in Wonderland instead... i get so sick of 'you people' piping in with your "holier than thou" attitudes as though what YOU believe means anything at all to another person who wasn't brainwashed in the same basin as you were! Offer advise or an actual opinion, but keep your dogmas to yourself... most of you repeat the same ol' song and dance like puppets on mechanized strings.) Pudding is the answer as much as any "god" or faerie!
If anything of any value from the area of 'religions' is to be helpful, then it would be found in the words of the enlightened ones who walked the earth in just the same way as 'we' do! So many of you 'worship and adore' your Jesus as though he were a god... he was a man! "Buddha" was a man... not a god! Read and learn from what THOSE kind of people have tried to explain to us... for our benefit and our own enlightenment.
If we can't do that and if we can't at least BEGIN to do it really soon, it really won't matter too much in not too long, people... someone's gonna blow up this whole place and the world will no longer have any problems to resolve as it and we disintegrate and become insignificant ittsy-bitsy parts of the universe! Oh... and you bible-thumpers will find yourselves dead along with the rest of us; only you won't ever know it, will you? lmao... you're scattered sub-atomic particles will be out there wondering, " Golly, where'd my heaven go?"

One way would be to remove the need for violence. I think if we can replace every single employee with a machine, there will be no more need for an economy. With the machines taking care of our physical needs we can focus on addressing our emotional and spiritual needs.
On the other hand, the absence of pain and suffering in our lives may leave us spiritually and emotionally undeveloped. Would that be an acceptable loss or would it be worse.
Is this what Jesus meant when he said the meek shall inherit the earth?

I believe the only way to live at peace is to accept eachother with each of our unique oppinions and outlooks, but we all have to work together and be open to different things. Each inividual can make a difference by setting examples to their peirs, and maybe if we all just acted a little less closeminded and selfish we can finally live at peace with one another.

As individuals we can all make a difference. I think if we begin to realize we all make mistakes and should be forgiven.
We all need help and we need someone who cares about us.
Nurturing one another and loving everyone is a huge step.
Just doing one of these things can help 100 percent.
See ya

Yes.We can lead a peaceful life if we have developed a definite willpower. One must be aware of his capabilities and must not compare it with others.Satisfaction in the present situation is amust. You can try for better only with a positive attitude. One must realise that he is not the only one in trouble and do develop an optimistic approach towards life.

I think knowledge and education are the most important things to peace. People who learn about other cultures become more tolerant. If adults started teaching children to respect differences and appreciate them. The problem is there are too many adults who aren't tolerant and don't take the time to learn about other cultures themselves.
