unit frozen, no hot or cold air coming out, i pu it on heat to defrost the unit now what....

I think you have to turn it off, even withouth hot air, and let it thaw out on its own before turning it back on

Just shut the AC unit down if it's frosting up. Turning on the heat won't defrost it any more quickly. You probably need more freon.

Make sure that the compressor and the unit itself are leveled, if it's tilted the liquid gas will create frost, and the unit will not work.

Try changeing the filter.It is either in the door or the main return(suck)duct.If your filter was clogged,turn it off for a while so it will thaw.If that doesn't help it may be low on freon.Call a tech.

you will have to wait a while for it to thaw and allow air to flow through the coils. putting it on heat does not help. sounds like you are low on freon, this can be checked by a hvac specialist and can be fixed. make sure they check for leaks. also, are your filters dirty?? this can cause a unit to freeze also.
